La Conchiglia in Province of Chieti

"OHHHH MYYYY GOOOOSSSHHHHH!!!!! Ammmaaazzzzing!!! You MUST go to this restaurant! We arrived and all tables were reserved and they set a table for us the chef filleted the fish in front of us. Made suggestions and the food was Bellisimo!!!!! I’m so grateful to him and his lovely Uncle who tried to understand us we really enjoyed your food, wine, friendliness and ambiance by the beautiful sea. We will return to the ‘real Italian ’ Grazie! Grazie! Grazie!"

"The restaurant is famous for its fresh fish. However my five star rating ,which is rare, is because of how the owner and his son treat their guests. Despite being packed the restaurant offers a truly warm Abruzzo welcome with smiles, and they treat their customers like family and friends. Come for the seafood and leave feeling warm and fuzzy. Of course the beautiful sea breeze and local vino help. There are alot of new seafood restaurants that have popped up on the lido offering modern food and wine, however they often lack the personal touch. I remember this restaurant when I first visited five years ago. It’s a staple and well worth a visit. Suggest avoiding busy Sundays and booking ahead. Enjoy!"

"We've eaten here a few times and the son who took over cares about the food and experience. Hard to have a bad experience when you're eating at the beach. We pre-ordered special fish dishes that my wife's cousin Fiore took care of...it along with the other meals we've eaten there are all very good. As with much of rural Italy you won't find a lot of English speakers service wise but you'll probably have some sitting close by as immigrants all come back in the summer so help is not far away."

"Food was delicious. Great spot right on the Adriatic with a beautiful sea breeze. Went for lunch and will definitely be returning. I'm from Canada and come to this area every year or two, but have never tried the restaurant. Just as good (if not better) than similar restaurants in the trabocchi area that are higher priced. Server was really busy, but took the time to talk to us and recommend local wine without upselling us at all. We had pasta dishes, mussels, and the mixed fried seafood. All were excellent. May return even on this trip. Thanks for the great lunch!"

"Family owned, originally from San Vito, so they know seafood. Several unusual classic dishes for seafood lovers. Informal restaurant in a friendly environment on the beach. One of the better places to eat along the Fossacesia Marina."
